Tasks of the University of Graz:
According to § 3 Universities Act 2002, the University of Graz fulfills the following tasks within its sphere of activity:

  1. Development of the sciences (research and teaching), development and exploration of art and teaching of art

  3. Scientific, artistic, artistic-pedagogical and artistic-scientific professional training, qualification for professional activities that require the application of scientific knowledge and methods, as well as training of artistic and scientific skills up to the highest level

  4. Education and promotion of young scientists and artists

  5. Continuing education, especially for university graduates

  6. Coordination of scientific research (development and exploration of the arts) and teaching within the university

  7. Support for national and international cooperation in the field of scientific research and teaching as well as art

  8. Supporting the use and implementation of their research results in practice and supporting the social integration of the results of the development and exploration of the arts

  9. Gender equality and advancement of women

  10. Maintaining contacts with graduates

  11. Informing the public about the fulfillment of the tasks of the universities
